I have been the biggest slacker lately. Honestly, I've been avoiding my blog. Want to know why? .... I'm kind of embarrassed to say... I have been SLACKING so hard with my work outs. :( I haven't been to the gym in weeks and I'm back to drinking 3+ pops a day. *sigh*<br />
<br />
Anyway, enough of the depressing stuff. On with some good news! My financial aid for school has worked itself out and I am able to start cosmetology classes in April! I am so excited for this next step in life!<br />
<br />
In about a year I will be able to cut Cody's hair myself so he won't ever have an excuse for looking like this again.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-mDw5UUSYm2U/TV8uKgzrTNI/AAAAAAAAAJo/LM3AoHImb1U/s1600/DSCN9549.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-mDw5UUSYm2U/TV8uKgzrTNI/AAAAAAAAAJo/LM3AoHImb1U/s320/DSCN9549.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>Thank goodness, right? LOL<br />
<br />
Good news #2: <b>ETHAN IS WALKING!!</b> Yep! I have a walking baby! I am so happy and so proud of him. He took his first official steps as a walker just a few days after he turned 11 months old. Yay! I have no pictures yet, but as soon as I upload my pictures from my camera I will get them on here. :)<br />
<br />
I really hope to keep updating now that I have let out my dirty secret about not sticking with my diet. Woops!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5879861117873526616.post-56514342305954964562011-01-24T23:55:00.000-05:002011-01-24T23:55:13.370-05:00Counting CaloriesIt just might be the death of me. Or at least that is what I thought on Saturday when I started it. I totally cheated and ate a huge bowl of ice cream Saturday night before bed. I was SOOO hungry! Since then, however, I feel like I have been doing AWESOME! I am only eating 1200 calories or less each day. I only went over on Saturday and the past 2 days have been <b>way</b> easier. I am so happy. Also, my vitamins should be in the mail tomorrow so that should help keep my energy and metabolism up.<br />
<br />
I can't even begin to explain how proud I am of myself. I know that it has only been 3 days, but I do not do well with dieting and losing weight. This is big for me. According to my calorie counting app, if I keep it up I should lose 2 lbs. a week! <i>Awww yeahhh! </i>That means I will be down 40 lbs. by June. Perfect timing to bust out the bikini!<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">I'm going to make this shirt a true statement!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_a0epEBkPn4I/TT5XTVKmklI/AAAAAAAAAJg/EmJ_OHQk8Yk/s1600/7030_1204061672106_1545556628_515536_86531_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_a0epEBkPn4I/TT5XTVKmklI/AAAAAAAAAJg/EmJ_OHQk8Yk/s320/7030_1204061672106_1545556628_515536_86531_n.jpg" width="240" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><i>(My shirt says "Future MILF". I couldn't imagine my life without my son. However, I could have lived without the stretch marks and extra flab he blessed me with. He is approaching 11 months here in a few weeks, so I am really struggling with the fact that I <i>still</i> have not lost all of my baby weight. :/ Not cool.<br />
<br />
This is why I am going to work <b>hard</b> to lose my extra weight and get to a point where I am happy with my body again. I want to lose about 40 pounds, but really any amount would be nice. I am super nervous to publish this post (in fact, I've been putting it off for the past 3 days LOL), but I know that it will be the encouragement that I need. Right now I am at 168 lbs and I am not happy to show you the time line of my body, but here it goes!<br />

I started using a calorie counter today and I have been going to the gym a few times a week. I plan on starting some vitamins and eating <b>much</b> healthier. I am desperately trying to cut back my pop intake, but I am finding that to be more difficult than I expected. It is a work in progress. I can do this! I will do this! </div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5879861117873526616.post-75502013872526915362011-01-17T19:45:00.001-05:002011-01-22T17:33:41.919-05:00I'm Addictedto late night blogging (or should I say early morning blogging?). Lately I have been finding myself scrolling through my google reader around 2 or 3 in the morning. Normally this would not be a very good thing since I should be getting all of my rest in while Ethan is sleeping peacefully, however, as I was reading through my daily list of blogs last night (this morning) I came across the most fantastic thing ever. A GIVEAWAY TO WIN A SILHOUETTE SD MACHINE! Ahhhh!! If any of you know me, I have been dying for a Cricut or a Silhouette for so long, but I just cannot bring myself to spend the money on them.<br />
<br />
If I win this thing, you will probably see nothing but vinyl and paper projects on my blog for at least 3 months straight. Yeah, I'm PUMPED! Check out the <a href="http://craftskeepmesane.blogspot.com/2011/01/silhouette-promotion-review-and.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+blogspot%2FfGMKF+%28Keeping+it+Simple%29">Keeping it Simple</a> blog to find out how to enter!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5879861117873526616.post-50486452024839350552011-01-15T02:11:00.003-05:002011-01-22T17:33:24.631-05:00Buttons!I had a huge bag of buttons that kept getting spilled so I decided to dress up an empty can of formula to give them a new home. I just wrapped some decorative paper around the base and glued it on with adhesive dots. For the lid, I covered it with a pink paper that accented the base. Then I hot glued a few strips of ribbon and a couple cute buttons that I had laying around. <br />

The whole project took me about 10-15 minutes. It was really simple. Not to mention that it looks <b>much</b> better than an Enfamil wrapper! :)<br />

While I do call my son Bubba on a daily basis, I keep accidentally typing Ethan instead! I am also finding it hard to post a lot of my crafts because they are personalized with his name. So I am dropping the fake names and from now on we will be known as Momma Meg (or Megan), Cody (He can continue being Duglokk if you play WoW with him. ;) ), and Ethan. Sorry fellow mommy bloggers, I just couldn't follow that rule! :P<br />
<br />
On a different note, Ethan has been so funny lately! Check out this video of him being a goof while eating.<br />

This morning I waited until he got home to make breakfast, so technically it was breakfast for lunch. :) I wanted something fast and easy, but delicious at the same time. While I was trying to come up with something I remembered a recipe that I had seen the other day while browsing through my list of blogs. Bacon & Eggs Toast Cups! Sounds crazy right? I am so happy that I made them. They were awesome.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><img border="0" height="238" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_a0epEBkPn4I/TS_Fsh887MI/AAAAAAAAAIY/_n7tsjNGZzk/s320/DSCN0199.JPG" width="320" /></div><br />
This recipe is so simple and cute! Especially for those of you with young children. I will definitely be making them more often. To get the recipe, head on over to <a href="http://thefarmgirlrecipes.blogspot.com/2011/01/bacon-egg-toast-cups.html">The Farm Girl Recipes</a> blog.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5879861117873526616.post-85632647413232275962011-01-13T01:37:00.002-05:002011-01-22T17:31:51.816-05:00Annnd I Changed My Mind...The bedtime stories theme for Bubba's first birthday party is out. Although it is a super cute idea, Duglokk and I decided that we want to go with a farm themed party instead. Why? He got a Little People barn for Christmas and he <b>loves</b> it. He could sit and play with (chew on) those little animals all day long. I've got to admit that I am really excited about this party now.<br />
<br />
My grandpa built a headboard for my cousin a few years back that is in the shape of a barn, so they are going to let us use that for some decoration at the party. One of the "windows" on the headboard is actually a picture frame so I'm probably going to get some pictures taken of Bubba in some overalls and a flannel to put in the frame. How cute would that be? I am seriously pumped.<br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Of course, this is merely a vision and probably far off of what the actual party will be. I can always dream though! Because of this, I do not have the luxury of having that fabulous craft room like Carole from 3-Dimensional Me. Seriously, go check out <a href="http://carolejansons.blogspot.com/2009/11/my-scrap-room.html">her scrap room</a>.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_a0epEBkPn4I/TSgHpW9pGSI/AAAAAAAAAHg/C_EO9rxPQys/s1600/371467_600x600.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_a0epEBkPn4I/TSgHpW9pGSI/AAAAAAAAAHg/C_EO9rxPQys/s320/371467_600x600.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Ugh, I am SO jealous! Someday this will be mine. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_a0epEBkPn4I/TSgHqKonTTI/AAAAAAAAAHk/AmwRbyilHBE/s1600/448353_600x600.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_a0epEBkPn4I/TSgHqKonTTI/AAAAAAAAAHk/AmwRbyilHBE/s320/448353_600x600.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

<div style="text-align: left;">I literally find myself drooling on my keyboard every time I browse through the scrap rooms over at <a href="http://www.twopeasinabucket.com/gallery/projects/scrap-room-theme/21/">Two Peas in a Bucket</a>. They are my inspiration for when I finally get to have a crafting space to call my own. However, until then, I want to show you guys how I am revamping my card table into a mini craft area that I can call my own (even if it is just in the corner of the living room).<br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;"></div><div style="text-align: left;">I bought this AWESOME ribbon shelf from Michael's the other day for 40% off. I love it! I plan on going back next time I get some extra cash. I definitely want to pick up some more of their neat storage shelves.<br />
<br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_a0epEBkPn4I/TSf9J1wrwII/AAAAAAAAAHY/WBXjflamfhY/s1600/DSCN0022.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_a0epEBkPn4I/TSf9J1wrwII/AAAAAAAAAHY/WBXjflamfhY/s320/DSCN0022.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
As I continue to reorganize my crafting area, I will update my blog with pictures. Hopefully I can create a mini version of the fabulous scrap rooms above. :)<br />
<div style="text-align: left;"></div><div style="text-align: left;"></div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5879861117873526616.post-58571950919063945242011-01-08T00:59:00.004-05:002011-01-08T02:00:12.443-05:00Pure RidiculousnessYes, I did just make that word up. Don't judge. (Although, I'm sure this post is going to make you judge more than you ever would have imagined. Brace yourselves, people). <br />
<br />
About a month ago I collected two full trash bags full of random fabrics and materials from a fellow freecycle member. (By the way, If you aren't familiar with <a href="http://www.blogger.com/www.freecycle.org">freecycle</a>, I suggest you check it out. Great stuff for FREE!). So anyways, in one of the bags there was a bunch of furry material to make stuffed animals or related projects. I didn't really plan on using it because it was pretty old and not very good quality. However, Duglokk had this "brilliant" idea of making him a pair of fuzzy boxers. Oh yeah, he's a real genius. <br />
<br />
After listening to him ask for these things for a few weeks, I finally made them for him. We made a deal that if I made them, he had to let me post pictures of him wearing them on my blog. Well <b>fortunately</b> for you, they did not fit him. (I know, you all really wanted to see that sight. Sorry to disappoint). <br />
<br />
I did take a few photos of the boxers though so you can enjoy the awkwardness of it all.<br />
<br />

</div><div style="text-align: center;">I even added a cute little star button to close up the pee flap. I know, I'm so fancy.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

It is unbelievable how fast this past year has gone. I started planning last night for his big bash and I think it is safe to say that the majority of my posts are going to be documenting the planning process. I want to make this a GREAT party. I wasn't sure what theme I was going to go with since he is still much too little to actually appreciate a theme, but after searching for literally hours for different themes I found a really cute idea from Hostess With The Mostest. BEDTIME STORIES!<br />
<br />

I am so excited to have a theme for this party! Now all I have to do is plan and run with it! Sooo excited!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5879861117873526616.post-74578469592184850392011-01-03T18:23:00.005-05:002011-01-08T02:02:34.708-05:00ABCSince Christmas is over I can finally blog about the stocking stuffers I made for Bubba. You might remember the blog post I wrote about them being a surprise for my mom and grandma. You can read that <a href="http://mommamegscraftycrap.blogspot.com/2010/12/stocking-stuffers.html">here</a>. I have been so anxious to show everyone what it is!!<br />

</div><div style="text-align: left;">Magnetic Alphabet!! I made these cute little magnets out of assorted fabric, batting, and sturdy magnets. I just love them! They are so much cuter than the boring plastic ones. Not to mention, they are safer for young children as well. I can definitely see myself making a few more sets of these in the future. Maybe for birthday or Christmas gifts.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />

Oh yeah, I forgot.I have been SLACKING. Ya know what, though? I really enjoyed staying slightly disconnected during the holidays. I say slightly because I do admit that I checked my facebook just about every single day. It's a problem I have, I know. Anyways, I really did enjoy my couple of weeks of holiday vacation. We traveled back to Illinois to spend it with our family and we had an excellent time with everyone. Not to mention how <b>spoiled</b> we were!!! Especially Bubba. That kid has just about everything a little baby could ever want. We truly are lucky to have such a big supportive family. :D<br />

I've been busy working on my etsy orders! Gotta get these suckers done by Christmas and I'm stressing a little! I'll get them done though, I promise! I don't really have much to say right now, but I'll leave you with a few pictures of Bubs in his new-found napping area.<br />

Aww yeah I am so excited! Now I just have to bust my ass to get these things done by Christmas! (4 stockings and a quilt) AHHHH!!! :0 That's okay. I can do it. I have confidence in myself. <br />
<br />
I really have nothing else to post about at the moment except for the fact that Bubba currently has a circular piece of tinsel stuck to the roof of his mouth and Duglokk and I have no idea how to get it out. Hmm... any suggestions?Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5879861117873526616.post-26777304358609010392010-12-15T15:16:00.002-05:002010-12-15T15:18:27.980-05:00Stocking StuffersSo after all the excitement of buying Bubba all sorts of presents for his first Christmas, I completely forgot to get things to stuff inside of his adorable <a href="http://mommamegscraftycrap.blogspot.com/2010/12/handmade-christmas-stockings.html">stocking I made him</a>! Last night I was browsing my list of craft blogs looking for something I could possibly make for him since we don't really have the money to go out and buy much for him at this point. I found the CUTEST idea ever! I really want to show you guys, but I kind of want my mom and grandma to be surprised when Bubba opens it. ;) I'll just leave you guys with a hint instead.<br />
<br />

I know that I only have 10 days before I can blog about what I made, but I'm not sure I can wait that long. We will see!! <b>Comment with your guesses on what it might be. </b>(Missy, you don't count because I already told you! Haha).Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5879861117873526616.post-4254833424804421152010-12-14T00:44:00.005-05:002010-12-23T01:39:21.124-05:00Advent Calendar TutorialI finally made an advent calendar. I wanted to make one that involves Bubba, like a paper chain or something of the sort, but since he is too young I decided to get artsy and make one of my own that I can reuse each year. I probably looked at over 50 different styles of advent calendars before I chose to make the one that I did. I already had all of the necessary supplies on hand, so I didn't have to buy anything to make it. That's always a good feeling!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_a0epEBkPn4I/TQb_RgDG0TI/AAAAAAAAAFI/EIgNGt0gx1U/s1600/DSCN9662.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_a0epEBkPn4I/TQb_RgDG0TI/AAAAAAAAAFI/EIgNGt0gx1U/s320/DSCN9662.jpg" width="240" /></a></div><br />
<div style="text-align: center;">I grabbed an old cookie sheet from under my oven and cleaned it off real well. Then I painted the back side of it white with a foam paint brush.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_a0epEBkPn4I/TQb_Jr11iGI/AAAAAAAAAE8/OUK7_i042ro/s1600/DSCN9585.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_a0epEBkPn4I/TQb_Jr11iGI/AAAAAAAAAE8/OUK7_i042ro/s320/DSCN9585.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Then I covered it with festive cardstock and drew a 5x5 grid in the middle.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_a0epEBkPn4I/TQb_MdXARRI/AAAAAAAAAFA/1ajQnjDqcxI/s1600/DSCN9587.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_a0epEBkPn4I/TQb_MdXARRI/AAAAAAAAAFA/1ajQnjDqcxI/s320/DSCN9587.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">I had a bunch of really cute gift tags that I numbered 1-25 and used for the countdown. I stuck a thin magnet on the back of each one so they are easy to remove and replace. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_a0epEBkPn4I/TQb_O7x_vDI/AAAAAAAAAFE/5V2ZgX3xazI/s1600/DSCN9593.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_a0epEBkPn4I/TQb_O7x_vDI/AAAAAAAAAFE/5V2ZgX3xazI/s320/DSCN9593.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"></div><br />
<div style="text-align: center;">Then, I tied hemp rope to the gift tags to spruce them up a bit. </div><div style="text-align: center;">Once that was finished, I wrote "How many days until Christmas?" on it, like the following pictures show, and I added some buttons and a ribbon for accent.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_a0epEBkPn4I/TQb_cQWNq6I/AAAAAAAAAFY/HuDr7JI2IKY/s1600/DSCN9670.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_a0epEBkPn4I/TQb_cQWNq6I/AAAAAAAAAFY/HuDr7JI2IKY/s320/DSCN9670.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_a0epEBkPn4I/TQb_WqUAbhI/AAAAAAAAAFQ/OGoynXv8bwI/s1600/DSCN9666.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_a0epEBkPn4I/TQb_WqUAbhI/AAAAAAAAAFQ/OGoynXv8bwI/s320/DSCN9666.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_a0epEBkPn4I/TQb_Zpue-bI/AAAAAAAAAFU/iavV22jh9HQ/s1600/DSCN9669.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_a0epEBkPn4I/TQb_Zpue-bI/AAAAAAAAAFU/iavV22jh9HQ/s320/DSCN9669.jpg" width="240" /></a></div><br />
<div style="text-align: center;">Overall, it was a very simple project. I'm so glad that I finally got around to making it. Even if I do only get to enjoy it for 12 more days...(11 now since it is already 1AM).</div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_a0epEBkPn4I/TQb_hlkOsII/AAAAAAAAAFg/kKKfYyxHfM0/s1600/DSCN9674.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_a0epEBkPn4I/TQb_hlkOsII/AAAAAAAAAFg/kKKfYyxHfM0/s320/DSCN9674.jpg" width="240" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_a0epEBkPn4I/TQb_kFJRgSI/AAAAAAAAAFk/s46Qyw3nCTI/s1600/DSCN9676.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_a0epEBkPn4I/TQb_kFJRgSI/AAAAAAAAAFk/s46Qyw3nCTI/s320/DSCN9676.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_a0epEBkPn4I/TQb_kFJRgSI/AAAAAAAAAFk/s46Qyw3nCTI/s1600/DSCN9676.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><br />
</a></div><div style="text-align: center;">Oh, I almost forgot to mention, the magnets are awesome because whenever you take a number off of the calendar, you can simply stick it to the inside of the pan. So convenient! </div><br />

I was so excited that I logged on and got right to designing our first card as a family. :D *CHEEEESE!* After spending probably 2 hours trying to figure out which pictures to use with what template and what fonts, I finally created a card. Woohoo! Wanna see?<br />
<br />
Here it is!<br />
<br />
<div class="sflyProductPreviewWidget" style="height: 494px; width: 425px;"><div class="sflyProductPreviewWidgetTop" style="background-image: url("http://cdn.staticsfly.com/img_/share/preview/msc/widget/top.gif"); height: 6px;"></div><div class="sflyProductPreviewWidgetCenter" style="background-image: url("http://cdn.staticsfly.com/img_/share/preview/msc/widget/bg.gif"); background-repeat: repeat-y; height: 482px; padding: 0pt 6px;"><div class="sflyProductPreviewLogo" style="height: 34px; padding: 14px 0pt 0pt 14px; width: 105px;"><img src="http://cdn.staticsfly.com/img_/share/preview/msc/widget/logo.gif" /></div><div class="sflyProductPreviewContainer" style="height: 350px; padding: 0pt; text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.shutterfly.com/cards-stationery"><img src="http://images-community.shutterfly.com/prs/v1/0AatWrRk4cNmfA/0AatWrRk4cNmfOLA/p/67b0de21b3127d902548/JPEG/1292295225000/0/" /></a></div><div class="sflyProductPreviewMessageContainer" style="background-color: #f4f4e9; height: 55px; line-height: 19px; padding: 15px 0pt; text-align: center;"><div class="sflyProductPreviewTitle" style="color: #333333; font-family: arial,sans-seris; font-size: 15px; font-weight: bold;">Elegant Black Damask Christmas 5x7 folded card</div><div class="sflyProductPreviewSEOText" style="color: #333333; font-family: arial,sans-seris; font-size: 13px;"><a href="http://www.shutterfly.com/cards-stationery/christmas-cards" style="color: #6666cc;">Shutterfly Christmas cards</a> </div><div class="sflyProductPreviewViewCollection" style="color: #333333; font-family: arial,sans-seris; font-size: 13px;">View the entire <a href="http://www.shutterfly.com/cards-stationery" style="color: #6666cc;">collection</a> of cards.</div></div></div><div class="sflyProductPreviewWidgetBottom" style="background-image: url("http://cdn.staticsfly.com/img_/share/preview/msc/widget/bottom.gif"); height: 6px;"></div></div><br />
I think they are so cute! And there are more pictures on the inside of the card along with a little greeting. It was a super awesome deal to get 50 free. I believe the total savings in my cart was $119. Chaaa-Ching! That's what I'm talking about. :)<br />
<br />
I definitely think I will be ordering from <a href="http://www.shutterfly.com/">Shutterfly</a> from now on. He's moving up in the world (of warcraft). Maybe I should throw him a party.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">I could make him this awesome cake.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_a0epEBkPn4I/TQSLUqRqNGI/AAAAAAAAAEc/xfMk3dUF7UQ/s1600/azerothmapcake.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_a0epEBkPn4I/TQSLUqRqNGI/AAAAAAAAAEc/xfMk3dUF7UQ/s320/azerothmapcake.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Or these cupcakes...</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_a0epEBkPn4I/TQSNEynyMEI/AAAAAAAAAEg/WqmYsc98LNc/s1600/hcups1_lsp.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="182" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_a0epEBkPn4I/TQSNEynyMEI/AAAAAAAAAEg/WqmYsc98LNc/s320/hcups1_lsp.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Oh, and I could make everyone these sweet shirts that tell whether they are Horde or Alliance!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_a0epEBkPn4I/TQSNeGp32qI/AAAAAAAAAEk/k3dZVSMpDU0/s1600/serthida1lsp.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="180" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_a0epEBkPn4I/TQSNeGp32qI/AAAAAAAAAEk/k3dZVSMpDU0/s320/serthida1lsp.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">Okay that's enough of that nonsense. In no way will I EVER be throwing him a WoW party. I just wanted everyone to know that he has been working so hard to get to level 85 and he finally did it. WOOFREAKINGHOO! Ha, I love you babe. I hope the random stupidity of this post makes you smile. :)</div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5879861117873526616.post-79435312273270592352010-12-12T03:17:00.003-05:002010-12-12T14:55:49.676-05:00My First Wreath! (My First Tutorial Too!)As most of you are finding out, I'm kind of going with a handmade Christmas theme this year. After seeing how nice my stockings turned out, I've been looking for other ways to create a cheap, DIY Christmas. After my car dragged me to Michael's today, (Yes, my car just automatically goes there. Even when I tell it that I have no money.), I was searching through the aisles wondering what kind of magical item I could find to decorate my small apartment with. I found a few cute things that I wanted, but my wallet told me otherwise. On my way out of the store something caught my eye. A foam wreath. I could totally make a fabric covered wreath! Heck yes!! Needless to say, I bought that sucker, got home to my lovely craft table, and started working.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_a0epEBkPn4I/TQSBkNX7esI/AAAAAAAAAEU/eQpqLujB3eY/s1600/DSCN9463.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_a0epEBkPn4I/TQSBkNX7esI/AAAAAAAAAEU/eQpqLujB3eY/s320/DSCN9463.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
(I am going to try to do a tutorial for this, but bare with me because I have never done one before.)<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">I started out by wrapping the wreath with a red knit fabric like shown. I secured the fabric by placing a dot of glue from a hot glue gun every couple of wraps.</div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_a0epEBkPn4I/TQSBLkQ0kBI/AAAAAAAAADs/vYyjFlBqtS0/s1600/DSCN9429.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_a0epEBkPn4I/TQSBLkQ0kBI/AAAAAAAAADs/vYyjFlBqtS0/s320/DSCN9429.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_a0epEBkPn4I/TQSBNljHYpI/AAAAAAAAADw/rz78hv9ywvs/s1600/DSCN9432.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_a0epEBkPn4I/TQSBNljHYpI/AAAAAAAAADw/rz78hv9ywvs/s320/DSCN9432.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
<div style="text-align: center;">Next, I cut several circles out of various holiday fabrics. (I used the same material that I used for the <a href="http://mommamegscraftycrap.blogspot.com/2010/12/handmade-christmas-stockings.html">stockings</a>).</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_a0epEBkPn4I/TQSBQqSINYI/AAAAAAAAAD0/Zr3Rs4sjS94/s1600/DSCN9437.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_a0epEBkPn4I/TQSBQqSINYI/AAAAAAAAAD0/Zr3Rs4sjS94/s320/DSCN9437.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Once the circles were all cut, I started gluing them onto the wreath to create flowers. I pinched the fabric and tried to pucker it before the glue dried to give it more of a 3D look.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div style="text-align: center;">After all of the buttons were glued on, I simply attached a matching ribbon to the back of the wreath!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div style="text-align: left;">This project probably took me a total of 2-3 hours. I'm really happy with the end results and I love that it matches the stockings. Last night I headed to the store after my work out and I got Bubs a variety of ravioli, macaroni, chicken, and a few other pastas. Tonight was our first night with the new food (chicken and carrot ravioli) and some people might not agree with me, but I'd call it a success!<br />

I knew that I did not want those boring red stockings that you have to write your name on it with puff paint. No thank you. After searching several different stores for cute stockings, I finally gave up and decided to make them myself. I was afraid that they would turn out looking even more hideous than the puff paint, but I was actually pleasantly surprised with the results.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_a0epEBkPn4I/TQLXZ5BOO1I/AAAAAAAAADI/P-spj3SKY90/s1600/IMG_2309.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_a0epEBkPn4I/TQLXZ5BOO1I/AAAAAAAAADI/P-spj3SKY90/s320/IMG_2309.jpg" width="240" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_a0epEBkPn4I/TQLXcMyATFI/AAAAAAAAADM/ilyaK2Jx99E/s1600/IMG_2315.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_a0epEBkPn4I/TQLXcMyATFI/AAAAAAAAADM/ilyaK2Jx99E/s320/IMG_2315.jpg" width="240" /></a></div><br />
I would show you Bubba's, but since it has his real name on it I will refrain. I wouldn't want the sacred goddess of the mommy bloggers to think I'm a bad mother would I?! His is pretty much the same anyways, the colors are just switched (red for the main color and green for his name).<br />
<br />
Considering the fact that I freehanded this entire project and used no pattern what-so-ever, I would say that they were pretty easy to make. Best of all, I actually had fun improvising them! I want to make some more so if you or anyone you know needs some stockings for this year, or even next year, head on over to my <a href="http://www.etsy.com/listing/63283148/personalized-customized-stocking">etsy shop</a> and get some ordered! <br />

Duglokk and I haven't quite decided whether we want to send them out or not. They are so much work and money and time and everything that we really just don't want to deal with. However, we did get some super cute pictures taken of Bubba by <a href="http://www.facebook.com/?ref=logo#%21/profile.php?id=100001008586860">MISSLINDY</a>.<br />

I wasn't sure how we were going to afford to send out Christmas cards, so I was thinking about just emailing them until I found out about this awesome deal that Shutterfly is offering to bloggers. 50 FREE cards for bloggers! How awesome is that?<br />
<br />
I have always been a big fan of <a href="http://www.shutterfly.com/">Shutterfly</a>. Their <a href="http://www.shutterfly.com/photo-books">photo books</a> are adorable and did I mention SIMPLE to make? Seriously, all you do is upload the pictures that you want and type in your names. Shutterfly does the rest. And not to mention, grandparents practically fall out of their chairs with how awesome they are. ;)<br />
<br />
Anywho, I was searching through their enormous selection of Christmas cards (literally, there is 805 different styles) and I thought I'd share a few of my favorites with you guys. Maybe you can help me decide which one to choose since I cannot pick one for the life of me.<br />

They are all too cute. I can't choose just one. The nice thing about Shutterfly is that you can put your picture in and see exactly how they will look. That makes choosing a little easier! Go check out all of the different <a href="http://www.shutterfly.com/cards-stationery/christmas-cards">Christmas card</a> designs for yourself! They also have really nice <a href="http://www.shutterfly.com/cards-stationery/address-labels">address labels</a> that you can get to match your cards, and if you want to go all out you can even get matching <a href="http://www.shutterfly.com/cards-stationery/gift-tags">gift tags</a>. Seriously?! How cute is that?!<br />
<br />
If you have already sent out your cards for this year, you may want to check out some of their <a href="http://www.shutterfly.com/photo-gifts">photo gifts</a> instead. Family and friends would love to get a personalized photo gift of the loved ones in their life. Another one of my favorite gifts is the <a href="http://www.shutterfly.com/calendars">photo calendar</a>. It is such a neat way to keep your loved ones in mind while at work.<br />

I think I'll do a post later about my handmade Christmas stockings so check back in a few hours! ;)Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5879861117873526616.post-69397295359982489692010-12-09T11:16:00.001-05:002010-12-12T14:59:30.665-05:00Baby Food Jars EVERYWHERE!<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">It is common knowledge, or at least I think it is, that you should never throw away baby food jars. I really have no idea why these tiny jars are considered so precious, but I still kept most of them. After collecting quite a few, I have finally decided to make some use out of them.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I dripped some acrylic paint down the side of the jars and I rotated them until they were completely coated in paint. Rotating gave them a swirled effect. Once they were completely coated I just tipped them over and let the excess paint drip out. Easy as that.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

<div style="text-align: center;">I'm not sure what I am going to do with them, but for now they work great as pen holders. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

I also made a new page in Bubba's scrapbook. I'm not sure how I feel about it. It's kind of lame. LOL<br />

I wanted to incorporate all of his hospital memorabilia, so I titled the page "the wardrobe of a newborn". The pennant banner on the left-hand side is made from his hospital blanket. The circle you see in the upper left corner is a picture of him as a newborn, wearing his hat.<br />

I'll update again once I have added more. Adios!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0
